Sunset date potassium & sodium dichromate

As from 21st September 2017 (sunset date),  Potassium dichromate & Sodium dichromate are subject to Authorisation regulations according REACH

Downstream Users (DU) may continue to use these substances beyond the Sunset Date (21.09.2017) until the Commission has decided and will be covered if: 
a) The use falls within the below definitions of use; 
b) The DUs receive the respective substance from a supplier covered by the specific applications for authorization; and 
c) The DUs apply the workplace and environmental requirements set out in the Chemical Safety Reports of the applications.

Gentrochema has applied for Authorisation for the following uses of :

Potassium dichromate:

1. Formulation of mixtures for surface treatment of metals such as aluminium, steel, zinc, magnesium, titanium, alloys, composites, sealings of anodic films.
2. Surface treatment of metals such as aluminium, steel, zinc, magnesium, titanium, alloys, composites, sealings of anodic films.

 
 
Sodium dichromate:
 
1. Formulation of mixtures for surface treatment of metals such as aluminium, steel, zinc, magnesium, titanium, alloys, composites, sealings of anodic films; and the electrolytic passivation of tin plated steel for the packaging industry.
2. Surface treatment of metals such as aluminium, steel, zinc, magnesium, titanium, alloys, composites, sealings of anodic films.
3. Electrolytic passivation of tin plated steel for the packaging industry.


New E-SDS ( Extended safety datasheets ) are available on request. For good order sake; it is DU’s responsibility and risk to implement and understand these specific uses !
